The first fully outfitted G650ER private jet.
Gulfstream recently delivered the first fully outfitted G650ER private jet to a customer, before the first quarter of 2015, as initially projected.
“It’s a good day when you can deliver on your promises ahead of schedule…Our customers have been waiting for the G650ER, the business jet that travels farther at faster speeds than any other business jet on the market. This aircraft delivers speed and range, providing passengers a world-class travel experience. The G650ER, by all definitions, is the industry leader.” said Larry Flynn, president, Gulfstream.
Gulfstream announced the G650ER in May of this year. The Federal Aviation Administration recently certified the flagship of Gulfstream’s product portfolio, verifying the airworthiness of the G650ER’s design.
The G650ER is the longest range business jet in the world. Its 7,5000 nautical miles range (13,890 kilometers), opens up more destination pairs than ever before for a business jet.
The G650ER travels near the speed of sound with a max speed of Mach 0.925. At Mach 0.85, it can carry passengers 7,500 nautical miles/13,890 kilometers, and at Mach 0.90, 6,400 nm/11,853 km. It connects more international cities and offers more nonstop destinations, from Hong Kong to New York, Los Angeles to Melbourne, Dallas to Dubai and San Francisco to Delhi.
Like its sister ship, the G650, the G650ER offers the most state-of-the-art cabin amenities, performance-enhancing safety features and advanced avionics.
Currently undergoing Federal Aviation Administration certification, the G650ER shares the same cabin, avionics and other systems as the G650. As a result, current G650 owners will be able to upgrade their original G650 to a G650ER beginning in the first quarter of 2015. Upgrades will require a modification to the G650’s fuel system that increases the fuel capacity of the G650ER’s wings over the G650.
The price for the new G650ER private jet is $66.5 million dollars, $2 million on top of the G650’s standard private jet.
